as well as being a registered Boxercise and Metafit coach.

My USP
My unique selling point, in my personal opinion is that I am relatable...
I have 4 children, married have always had to work fairly hard to stay in shape, my body just simply likes to naturally carry a fair bit of fat, mostly down to family genetics, so I have done a lot of research to understand the role metabolism, hormones, genetics, gender and age, and all they have to play on our bodies.
After always being a very over weight child and adolescent, i started my fitness journey properly in my early 20s, I had 2 of my children during this period of my life and at my heaviest I weighed just a little under 20 stones. I worked hard to loose weight and slowly began to enjoy the results of exercise and eating well, i managed to stabilise my weight at around 13 stones for several years.
I had my other 2 children in my mid and late 30's. I didn't gain as much weight this time round but as I was already classed as being over weight before having my children, I knew I had to be careful not to gain too much!
Trying to lose weight gained during pregnancy can take its toll on us mentally as well as physically as we try to navigate through the muddy waters of parenting and all the sleepless nights these days bring, but this time a decade older! However again with diet and exercise i managed to get my weight down and fitness levels up. I was sitting comfortably at around 10.7 stones this time and was probably the fittest I had ever been up to this point. I loved to run and took part in many fitness events on a weekly basis. - this is when I decided to re train as a personal trainer so I could help other people achieve the same results I had.
I have been a personal trainer now for over 8 years and I have had the privilege of helping lots of people, of all ages, shapes and sizes achieve their goals, and I could relate to each and every one of them through my own personal past experiences.
And, so now I am in my mid forties, and once again I finding my body is changing again, this time due to hormonal changes related to perimenopause, mainly the reduction of the female hormone, Oestrogen.
This can cause us to gain quite a bit of weight especially around the tummy, commonly referred to as the oestrogen belt! Perimenopause comes with a whole cocktail of changes to the female body! Brain fog, lethargy, aches and pains for no reason, headaches, sore muscles, cold bones, hot flushes, sleepless nights, and lots of other horrible side effects that make the very thought of working out pretty unbearable!
BUT
Exercise and eating well during this life stage has never been more important! Its so important for females to continue to build muscle to not give in to a sedentary lifestyles now! We need to lift heavy weights and eat the best we have ever eaten to keep our bodies fit and strong through this life stage, it’s well documented that diet and exercise can help ease and aid the menopausal transition!
As with the other life stages, I continue to learn and research how best to navigate this stage so I can continue to help others through sharing my experience and learnings.
Life is all just one big learning experience, and as I change and adapt I am better equip to help my clients learn and adapt too, so we can all be as strong and fit and smash our fitness goals no matter what life throws at us...
so...
